Last night, I was on a Zoom call with members of my diving club. While somebody was talking, I noticed somebody else had repositioned his camera so it was showing his cat, which was sat in a rectangular box marked on the floor. I asked what was going on, and he explained...

He heard a theory that if you mark a box on the floor, just about big enough for the cat to sit in, it will do so.

The cat in question...





Somebody else got up, ran off to find some tape and marked a box on the floor. Within about 5 minutes, the cat had plonked herself down in the box.



So...

1. Get tapin'
2. Get Votin' (I have switched on multiple answers in case you have more than one cat - let's say it's a success if the cat sits in the box without encouragement, within 3 hours of being around it)
3. Post some cats!

Masking tape box totally ignored by Lily, her brother Louis - who we thought would be a cert - gave it a sideways glance & then ignored it completely.
Both have walked past it several times.
Going to try black tape tomorrow.

We once had a cat which would always sit on a piece of paper placed on the floor. Even something the size of a postage stamp. I'll have to try this with ours.

Isn't this similar to an actual box where a/most cats will attempt to get inside,even if the box is half their size?

I sent this link to a friend that has a couple if cats, they've not had a chance to try a square but one of their cats will sit in a circle if you create one.
