GPS dog collar?
Discussion
Hi, can anyone recommend a GPS dog collar? We’ve just got a Vizsla pup and we’re starting to up the exercise as she gets a bit older and for a bit of fun I’d like to be able to log her activity. I don’t need one that has live tracking to pinpoint location, but I’d like to be able to hit record on a long walk and let her get on with it, then at home sync to the web and get a plot of where she’s been, how far she travelled, top speed etc, think of it as Strava for dogs. Any recommendations?
We’ve just (last month or so) been using the updates Tractive and finding it better that the previous attempts
Kippy Evo - hugely inaccurate and ste customer support when you ask a question.
Pit-Pat - Similar lack of accuracy (watch says 1.5km, tracker says .6 to 1.1 variable)
New one seems ok so far, about 4 days to a charge & fits easily to collar (grey box in pic) or slides into elastic sleeve on his K-9 harness

We are in the market for a couple of dog trackers too.
We had a dog tracker nano a couple of years ago, but stupidly bought it just before moving to a rural location, which with no mobile coverage, meant they didnt work.
I now need to find a device that ideally combines an off-grid tracker, and cell coverage so that, I can track them if they escape around the house whilst there is no mobile coverage(probably half a mile), and then start using mobile coverage when/if they get in range of it.
Most seem to use regular mobile coverage, and those that dont only have a very small range in hilly/rural areas.
