not exactly a Hoover, but a Henry, and we know what is coming next. Lexi ( a seven year old rescue JRTXYorkie) has a thing about cleaners. Every time Swimbo gets started on the floors/carpets etcetc, Lexi decides that the end piece is something that needs to be controlled, so she attacks it. Could this be down to the noise made by the suction. Last dog ( Shona, a pup farm rescue) had no cleaner problems, but hated the sound of a hose.
Any ideas and any cures.

Our bull terrier Lou hates the hoover. Attacks the end any time it’s turned on. She loses interest if you switch it off.
She has to be locked away if we’re hoovering.

I think it’s cos it was a fun game to tease her when she was a puppy - chasing her with the sucky bit etc. We’ve basically given her PTSD.

we didn’t play the hoover game with Duncan when he was a puppy - couldn’t care less now. You can actually hoover round him and he’s not bothered.

Not like the pointy faced nibbler shut in the kitchen.

Our Lab stands right next to the Hoover when the stairs are being done and won't move until he has been hoovered all over with the end of the suction hose

My old Lab never liked the hoover and would head for the door no idea why as never teased her as a pup, the 2 cats that lived here were never teased either but when the hoover came out 1 would head out the cat flap while his brother would sit and wait to be hoovered.

Daisy our Frenchie attacks the hoover when it's on, Barry (Terrier) is scared of it so buggers off sharpish when it appears, Daphne (Terrier), couldn't give a monkey's!

My Lab was never bothered by vacuuming. However we have a younger Frenchie that goes batst crazy full on attack mode at the sucky end until it’s switched off.

So the lab joins in now as she thinks it’s a fun game.

With the weird exception of the cordless vacuum. I can merrily get on with the job in hand, but use the plug in alternative and it all kicks off.

So as the poster above, dogs are kept out of sight...usually when they go for a walk.

We’re lucky in that Yoshi is fine with vacuums, we’ve even just bought a blaster to help with the shedding that’s coming on with a vengeance at the min (maybe it’s his background as a show dog and loads of grooming helps?)
