I have kept this to myself for a while but am now pleased to announce that my half tail cat Bader and my baby Private Dancer have had four babies in the early hours of this morning.

I took Bader in just after my Father passed away (Dad was in aviation for 60 odd years and since Bader had lost half his tail I gave him an appropriately related name). PD took to him immediately and mothered him somewhat resulting in a phantom pregnancy last year. She so desperately wanted to be a Mum and I wanted her to have one litter before she will be neutered.

Bader

My best friend lost her elderly and much loved cat three years ago but wasn’t ready for a new addition until last year and is having two from PDs litter, as is another friend so all have good, loving, stable forever homes waiting.

Dad has been loving her since he arrived and over the last few months

Ready to burst

First kitten was breach. PD was brilliant and let me help while she purred and pushed

Waited half an hour before a second, white kitten, was born

An hour later a black a white tuxedo, then half an hour and a fourth white kitten was delivered. Mum ate and rested in between, still purring away. She’s eaten this morning and after two hours sleep I’m at work. Shattered.

All four

I’ve asked for Caternity Leave but it’s been denied frown

Indeed difficult times. Work is a sad place to be recently. It’s hard. These are the two cats I bring in to work to spend time with the residents. I’m going to take daily photos for the next week and then print out a story book for them to look at as they often ask how they are, even those with dementia.

I have a playpen and had planned to bring kittens in. I can’t do that at the moment regardless but hopefully once they’re a good few weeks old things will be better and that can happen.

Thank you all. I am so so proud of her. She’s been brilliant. Calm and confident. Happy for me to handle them and let Bader be near.

Awww I had assumed you wanted a kitten sooner as you took on Truffle. I’ve ensured they all had homes before they were conceived. You’re turning in to a crazy cat person haha. I’ll let you know if anything changes though. I’m becoming rather attached to one (or four) myself boxedin
