auction for donkeys ....
Discussion
Yesterday I auctioned a brand new, Nintendo Switch that was given to me by EE last year. I ran the auction on my Facebook page.
I don't do computer games, so its totally worthless to me, but brand new and unopened. We are also foster patents to two donkeys who live with us #George and #LittleLad. They are from The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth and have been with us for nearly 5 years. We love them so much - they are just two very funny characters and have come a long way since their shaky beginnings in this world.
My chosen cause for this, Hayling Island Donkeys on the South Coast of England. They are an independent home run by a husband and wife team and are home to just over 30 donks + a few sheep etc - they are NOT a registered charity and don’t get any official help from anyone. We continue to support the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth obviously, but felt that on this occasion HID's could do with some extra help.
Anyway, the Nintendo went for £310!!! I added 25% (equivalent of gift-aid) and £387 was sent direct to HID’s which I hope will give them a little boost in such worrying times.
It’s just a nice little story that you might find uplifting - not after anything from anyone at all.
