Edit to add - put it in GG for maximum guesswork rather than the animal forum.

So, a friend of mine often drops off weird and unusual things that he finds on his travels and he gave me this a little while ago.

It’s a tooth. A BIG tooth.

I thought it might have been a rhino or a elephant but it’s very fossilised so I’m at a bit of a loss. Thought I’d leave it with my fellow #socialdistancing PHers to have a look at.

(To keep up with the current climate - the toilet roll is for scale).

So, what do you reckon?

I'm highly suspecting it's a wooly mammoth tooth.

Ok. That’s great if it is.
I did look at mammoth teeth and they are very similar. Most for sale seem to be more block shaped though.
It’s definitely a herbivore.

One of Janet Street-Porter's wisdom teeth. She'll be wanting that back.

The bog roll is probably more valuable.

I could be completely wrong so please don't take my word on it. I'm no expert, and is just based on seeing and handling one. Could very well be something else.

How much £ do you want for it?

And is it double or triple ply?

Soft quilt actually but I’ve only got 4 left.

Looking at the tooth a bit more, I reckon it’d do as a replacement for the bog roll. A bit rough but it’d get the job done!

no- it's a tooth from the most fearsome creature on today's planet- Motherinlawicus nasticus. She's at her most dangerous just after the wedding, where she renders Fatherinlawicus helpless to defend the couple. Some father in laws are immune to the venom and go on to a happy life after marriage, as do the couple. eek
