I remember when a cross breed was also known as a mongrel.

What the hell was my greyhound boxer cross breed then - a groxer? a box hound? a grey box?

No...it was a Lurcher.

On our Barking Mad dog holiday Franchisee page a colleague posted a question to find out if anyone had a mongrel registered for holidays? Out of thousands of dogs registered there are almost none! Most list by the two most likely breeds in the mix and a few list under unknown or Heinz57 but generally the word has gone out of fashion

She looks lovely.

Oh and I have 2 Yorkie Russell's, just putting it out there to upset a few!!

If people ask what they are I just say that they are Yorkie Jack Russell crosses.

So why bother? Did you just come in to start an argument? and we are the Snowflakes? rolleyes

OP, lovely looking pup, no Jackapoo here, a Schnoodle and a Jug, so I can tick two of those breeds in two different dogs, Noodle and Nara say hi!

Have you any clue what I was referring to or are you just needing a hug ?

I thought a Jackapoo was when you relieved yourself and sharted at the same time. Sort of coming and going at the same time. Anyway OP nice little dog.

Yes, if memory serves you have a habit of turning up in threads such as this, behaving like a berk and getting put on the naughty step.

Or a Heinz 57. My last dog was a staffie/collie cross. Coffie? Stallie? I quite like Coffie, but his nature was mongrel, and excellent it was as well. Obvious inbreeding traits were non-existent and he lived a (very) long and healthy life.

Much as I cringe at these daft names, they are the product of a planned breeding where the breed of both parents is known, so fair enough in my book..

mongrels/Heinz etc are mutts where the parentage is undefined.

Super cute pup! a lovely mix of breeds smile

Can you imagine how tragic your life must be, if you need to troll the sparsely populated pet corner of a car forum in order to get attention?

It does seem that mongrels/cross breeds are the fashion these days just so long as they're cute :-) Larger breeds are just to dog like to be fashionable. My daughter has 2 small crosses, lovely that they are they'd soon be dinner to anything predatory ;-(

Anybody crossed one of these with a 'Poo', Shih Tzu?
