Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

Has anybody here had any experience with this? Were the results good?
Out seven year old Lab has elbow and hip displacia, for which he has had laser treatment, and is on Non steroidal anti inflammatory tablets, (Onsior), Gabapentin, Amantadine and Paracetamol.
He also has weekly hydrotherapy.
The vet has suggested Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, which apparently is used in race horses with good results!
Stem cell therapy has also been suggested.
Any advice greatly appreciated!
