Currently using an interpet PF4 filter in my tank. The tank is 120 litre and minimally stocked with 5 guppies, planted and loads of wood.

I want to add a pouch of purigen to the filter but there is no room with the internal sponge cradel that is standard. I was wondering if I can remove the media cradle for the sponges and sort of just pack the sponges in with filter floss and a pouch of purigen. The cradle that comes as stander seems to be a waste of space that could be utilised with media.

Thanks

120 litres? Wow!
Is this a late WW2 Super Tiger, or the largest of the Red Army's Stalins?

I don't think you should have driven it into the Lounge, you've completely demolished the west wall, you idiot! irked

My dad kept fish when I was a kid

I’d go for a second filter and put it in there

Could you recommend a good one? I have used the Fluval 206 and Hydor Prime Range and they are just a bugger to clean not to mention when switched off for maintenance and then turned back on loads of crap from the pipes circulates.

Ive been an Eheim user for ever, cannot fault them...

Something similar to this would be perfect...

Try FB groups for used gear.Eheim spares are easy to obtain and cheap, plus they maintain the stated flow rates a lot longer than cheaper brands,

Good choice. You shoould notice a decent increase in both flow and also tank turnover.

Filter media included ?

I have the Eheim Classic 350.
Very good it is too.
Has the blue foams rather than the medium so easy to clean.

If it didn't come with them I suggest you get the Eheim isolating taps.
One goes in each tube & you just turn the taps off & unscrew the halves to remove the complete filter unit for cleaning.
Water loss as they split apart is a few drops.
No need to bleed after initial installation, you just reconnect the halves & open the taps.

Yeah, good point on the taps.

Try and find them used as they dont come cheap tho.
