Well I haven't, the wife has.

Wandered up to her in the street this morning before she left for work.

She's currently trying to find the owner on various community pages, it currently has the run of our master bathroom.

Assuming it remains unclaimed we're apparently keeping it.

Google is telling me a cage minimum size 20"x20"x24" and the diet seems fairly straight forward, anything else I need to know?

It (yet to be renamed) will share a house with the wife and I, a two year old, a 7 month old, a Shih-tzu and a King Charles..

Sorry but that's not a cage, it's a close-confinement prison cell.

Minimum size is worst case....

Buy the biggest you site and give the bird some space ....

For clarity, I am not trying to find the smallest possible cage size for it.

I kept FW Aquariums for years, fully aware of how cruel shoehorning an animal too small for its housing is.

Was more any other tips to ensure it's best possible care.

It's obviously someone's pet and we are trying to find the owners, failing that I'd like to give it the best possible care we can.

Hope you find the owners.
If not get a cage with horizontal bars, from what I remember they prefer these. Also try a plant sprayer filled with warm water to give him/her a shower.

Have a look on Facebook for local groups and also lost pet groups to try and find the owner...

It will destroy your bathroom!

Our 2 budgies are in a large dog crate & still let out for a good fly on a regular basis.

I wasn't particularly trying to be snarky, and I posted that before your later post with some more info (and I could perhaps have worded my reply better) but I honestly think it would be better to set it free to take it's (limited) chances rather than shut it up in something that small, that's all.

This. If there is anything in your bathroom not made of stone, plastic, or porcelain, e.g. a wooden cabinet, it will be devouring it as we speak.

We kept two for a while.

One was extremely finger tame and was my constant companion when I was home. Would pinch a sip of wine from a glass while you weren't looking and used to shag my socks if I wore white ones.

Hope you find the owner - try local vets for info.
