I’ve got an 11 month old cocker spaniel, yesterday evening he started limping around the house not putting his back right leg on the ground, I couldn’t see anything at all in his paws and he didn’t flinch when touching different areas of his leg, so it didn’t appear to hurt him anyway, but he struggled to walk.
I thought I’d put him to bed and see how he is this morning, and he’s totally back to normal now.
Not quite sure what has caused a very brief serious limp, all I can think is maybe he pulled a muscle or perhaps an unseen wasp or something stung him maybe. Any ideas what could cause a bad limp that lasts only a day?

Ours did the same on Saturday. Went out for a walk, slight limp and seemed worse when we got home. He went over to my mums in the afternoon and apparently back to normal.

I thought he might have stepped on a thorn and it was sore, but he is fine now running around like an idiot.

A couple of months ago my Lab was limping badly.

He was checked out by the vet for possible grass seeds etc in the paw.

In the end it was thought he'd just bruised the pad, all ok in a couple of days.
