Insurance for older cats
Discussion
We have got two cats that are approaching 11 years old. They are uninsured.
One of them has had a tough time lately - diagnosed with Pancreatitis, Diabetes and now Lymphoma,
I've never added up all of the bills, but it is well in excess of £10k.
Too late to insure her because I guess everything will be blamed on one of the pre-existing conditions, and she won't have much longer left unfortunately.
I did a Compare the Market quote for the other cat and the cheapest came in in £250. This covers £6,500 per condition with an excess of £135 per claim. We'd then have to pay 15% of the total vets bill.
Are there any recommended providers? This seemed a lot cheaper than the big names (e.g. John Lewis insurance quoted £800 per year, albeit with better cover limits)
