Get one of your own. Not being a smartarse - another cat is the biggest deterrent.

A supersoaker which is basically a giant water pistol with a good range. I dare say if loaded with some scented liquid they would hate it.

This.

We never have cat issues, because my wife has one. The in-laws are constantly moaning about cat st etc on their property. I told them to get one.

Can't stand the things. But each to their own.

I went outside today because the cat was in hunting mode. It had caught a bird and was eating it. Left the wings and the head. Quite efficient hehe

We have two dogs and a cat.

The cat was introduced after we had the dogs a number of years.

Good luck.

I'm not convinced that getting your own cat will work anyway. My own departed Syd would travel 2 miles to terrorise a group of cats in a small group of barn conversions, steal their food and I assume shag anything that wasn't quick enough. I got a number of complaints about this.

While cats are pretty territorial a bruiser will still come on and fight if he wants to. He was a wonderful cat. His battle scars had to be seen to be believed.

Only thing that I've found that actually works. It's also very good at spraying me when I forget to turn it off before walking down the garden

I own a Gel Blaster, it's great fun for cats and pigeons. the sound alone scares them off and the gel balls are biodegradable.
The only problem is, you have to catch the cat in the act which isn't always possible!

I've been having massive problems as the old lady seems to be running a village cattery or is just mental, anyhow I've had them stting under my front room window in the border or beside the front door for months and nothing seemed to stop it.

Recently planted lavender and rosemary in the border and not a single one has st in it since.

Over time I'll replace them with larger plants so there is no space for them to go in the mud but for now it seems to be working a treat.

Hot chilli powder.

The pads on a cats paws are really sensitive. They can feel the Capsaicin when they walk on it.

Thanks everyone and amongst all the ideas the lavender and rosemary seem to provide other benefits also and we like them so might get a few up and running

I am having the same problem. Although i am not a cat lover by a long way..domesticated vermin... i want them out the garden. The fence is looking like Fort know but the buggers yes more than one still get it. Tracked one to the hedgehog hole, so amendments are being made to that today. And the spikes on the top of the brick wall dont worjk

In out local Aquarist shop they are selling electric fencing to keep herons and cats away from the pond

Are there any legalities about instailing it on the top of my wall and gate.? It is just a 12v tingle type thing not the full blown 240v and a piee of charcoal hanging on it the next day These buggers are not going to win!!!
