They make great pets but if you spoil them with tit bits they can become very cheeky and naughty

I have a miniature called Basil. he has just turned 16 and I have had him since he was 2.

Absolute little s**t but couldn't be without him!

Super-cute, we need some more piccies of peeps PH Shetland ponies.

How much space do you need per Shetland BTW? Do you have to stable them at night over winter?

the standard rule of thumb is an acre per horse. Generally never works out that way though. I stable mine on a livery yard, he goes out during the day and is stabled during the night. Has been all his life and that is what he is used to. They can live out all year round though if you have the facilities.

They have that absolutely adorable look about them but you just know, underneath that adorableness they are naughty and cheeky as hell.

Much like my female Terrier, however she is only 3kg!

My parents have 7 of them! A couple of them try to get in the house. They're great for keeping my old man's fields down.
They are very boisterous and charge around everywhere. My eldest boy (8) is petrified of them and they know it. The youngest (7) is happy to walk amongst them down the fields and they really look after him.
Great little things.

They literally live of fresh air, mine stay out all summer and come back upto the farm for winter and go on hard standing for the winter on the yard. I've dogs bigger than these two biggrin
