DOG MEDS FROM THE INTERNET
Discussion
We've had Eric the retired greyhound for a bit over a year now and he's in fine fettle (now we've cut his food down and started weighing it out - he got a bit chubby for a while). I don't resent at all spending money on meds to protect him from worms, fleas and ticks but the cost from the vet has jumped recently. They had an offer on when we got the big boy 4 doses for the price of 3 which has now finished.
I just paid nearly £60 for 3 months' supply or Simparica 80mg and Milpro 125mg.
I can see various sites offering these for about half the vet's price but I'm hesitant. Anyone got a trusted site they've used?

I used to use petdrugsonline when my dog was on an expensive drug. Worked fine and much cheaper (£120 every 3 months instead of every month)
You need a prescription from your vet which they'll charge for but they shouldn't charge the earth
I use them too. Much cheaper for exactly the same as you buy from the vets. You need a prescription from your vet which they'll charge for but they shouldn't charge the earth
How much of a risk is it that veterinary drugs bought on line are counterfeit? Or is it just Viagra (not for pets!) or similar where this is (allegedly!) rife?
My dog is about to start long-term medication with tablets costing £60 a month from the vet, but £20 from seemingly respectable internet sources. A considerable saving over a year or more!
Does anyone have knowledge of the true picture, please?

How much did your vet charge for the prescription, please? Did they give any warning regarding possible problems with on-line purchases? What was their reaction to your request, as you are avoiding purchasing drugs from them? Do you think / know whether many people ask for a prescription to take away? You need a prescription from your vet which they'll charge for but they shouldn't charge the earth
Questions, questions! Sorry! But I have always been an 'analytical' ! That is part of my (lack of!) charm.
Another recommendation for VioVet, exact same meds our Vet used to give us.
Our Westie had kidney problems and after about 2 years at £80 a month found them for less than half on VioVet, was honest with the vet and just asked if we could have a prescription as it was costing us a fortune. They had no issue and charged £11 a month for the written script, which altogether with the meds from VioVet was still a huge saving.

As long as they are a British website you shouldn't need to worry about fake products. Look for the VMD (Veterinary Medicines Directorate) logo, it basically confirms they are an approved site, the company voluntarily gets the VMD on board. Cheapest I've found for epilepsy meds is Weldricks.
For other stuff, Pet Drugs Online.
I've just used PDO for another worming tablet for our Westie, who has an uncanny knack of finding them, no matter what they are hidden in, and spitting them out. You can only pick one up and clean the saliva off it so many times For other stuff, Pet Drugs Online.

Yeah, on of ours is like that - Milbemax?I even tried slicing it once & he left those.
Now it's into quarters & shoved down his gob.
