today is a really special day for us.

4 years ago George and Little Lad came to live with us, having spent around 4 years at the Donkey Sanctuary, after being rescued.

Its the best thing we have ever done. They are both happy, inquisitive, intelligent, playful characters and brighten up every single day.

Donkeys are great, we used to visit a few at Horseworld Trust just up the road from us. Can only see their horses etc now on open days which is ashame.

My first memories of a donkey was a couple that used to reside in a field next to a country pub thst my parents took us to occasionally.

They are such an abused animal in some countries (either deliberately or through ignorance) frown

They are so gentle & trusting. How anyone could be cruel to them is beyond me.

The last time I was home I was coming back through the New Forest & there is an area where they have a tendency to congregate, As I came towards it one donkey came off the verge & into the middle of the road, he promptly proceeded to trot down the middle of the road totally oblivious to the cars, I just had to follow him. He cheered up everybody's day, each car I passed coming the other way the people were laughing. He finally joined his mates about half a mile later, where there were about 50 of them in all shapes, sizes, colours & ages.

Excellent. I've supported the Donkey Sanctuary for very many years as they do such wonderful work.
