Good evening dog people of PH.

I will soon be collecting a 65 plate Skoda Octavia Vrs 230 estate. I plan to get a single dog box for my Springador (17 kilo not massive). So that half the boot can be the dogs and the other half can be for stuff. I also hope this will mean I can load the dog free side to the top if needed without stuff sloshing about all that much.

I don't particularly want to shell out for a new Transk9/Lintran/CAB dog box as they're £££££! But finding a second hand one is proving a nightmare.

There are cheaper ones listed online around the £60 mark. Does anyone have any experience of these? Or can think of anything else suitable?

The only other place I know of where stuff like this is advertised is Agility Net:

https://www.agilitynet.co.uk/section/fleamarket/

But I don't know whether they are any cheaper!

I bought an airline style plastic crate similar to the vari kennel recommended above. I originally intended to only use it in the short erm but still use it 3 years later. It's light and easily removable to hose out or if I need the space in the boot.

A friend has a proper custom made ££££ cage and it's unbelievably heavy.

Who me ?

Perhaps a bit of thought. Inside of the car is a passenger cage, of which the space behind the rear seat is not. I've seen the result of a rear end bang on a dog in cage in this space. As a result my dogs ONLY travel in the passenger cage . I wouldn't let a child travel behind the rear seat ( and I'd suspect I be in for a a lot of words from Traffic cops and a ticket) if I let kids travel in this area. So why ,put pets in there ??
I prefer a harness attached to the seatbelt, rather than ( my pet hate) dog in crate.

I have two CAB transit boxes one which is designed for a Volvo V70 and another that is slightly smaller that I had in a Saab.
I’m just about to order a new one for my van and these will be for sale, the smaller one first.

I have a trans K9 double box at the moment but have had a Lintran one previously, both are good. Also both of these locked so if you need to leave the dogs in the car you can open the boot to avoid them boiling.
