Afternoon all!

Was round at my Mum's place today, delivering her weekly shop, and she said she'd found an infestation...

Upstairs, in what was my old man's study, lil' bugs, lots of them, but only in a fairly limited area - probably 2m^2 at most. I'd say 80% were dead. There was no obvious point of entry, they were just on the floor and in a few cardboard trays. Anyway, I hoovered them up and dumped them in the bin.

Thing is, google was not my friend, and I've not been able to identify them, which is odd, because they look like a ladybirds's evil twin... They have black heads and black wingcases, but with a couple of creamy-white dots a la ladybird. Little bit smaller than ladybirds.

After my appeal to the PH hive mind to identify a bird of prey a few weeks ago was so successful, I'm appealing to you all again to find out what the little bar stewards are!

a thorough clean of the room , wash all fabric items in there and vacuum well especialy round the borders of the room. then use a good flea spray from the vets, not the cheap pet shop stuff. get it all round the carpet edges and a decent spray all round and it should sort them . also if theres a loft check to see if theres any old bird nests . they attract the beetles too and can be ground central for an infestation .

My Pleasure, only reason i know about this is due to having worked at one point on an advice desk for a large pest control company . the beetles are more a pest than harmful although can irritate those with respiratory issues and can damage fabric items. . also if theres a bed in the room give it a realy good vacuum too.
the flea spray is very good at sorting them out though.
