Old English/ Leavitt Bulldogge advice
Discussion
Hi,
We aren't fortunate enough to live in a mansion with acres of open space and live in a flat, we do have a lots of parks and plenty of countryside around us though.
We've loved the idea of getting a dog for a while and I've looked into "suitable" dogs for living with us, it seems that Bulldogs are one breed recommended for small homes providing that they are walked regularly (which isn't a problem at all). I did a bit more research into Bulldogs and it seems that the Old English/ Leavitt variety are a lot healthier.
Does anyone have one/ experience with them? How much exercise do they need? Bulldogs seem unlikely to be happy with more than ½ a mile walk at a time which although appealing, I think would cause issues for weekend walks in the countryside etc.
We'd like a decent sized dog (bulldog being the smallest I think) rather than a tiny Chihuahua sized. The dog would be left for a maximum of 4 hours in the day for a couple of days a week although taking it to work with me isn't beyond the realms of possibility (I also have relatives that board/ walk dogs daily)
Thank you
