We have a shared car port 3 cars wide behind the house in a private courtyard. We are in a resedential area surrounded by houses and gardens on all sides. A cat has taken a liking to our car port, littering in there and sleeping on my car.

Does anyone know a sure fire way to stop the cat wanting to come in to the car port, please no garage door suggestions..

Below is what I was greeted with this morning.

I quite like that look, you could always put a light coloured stripe on the car so the paw prints weren't so noticeable.

They don't like citrus so I hear, so orange peel or that kind of thing around the carport, or park your car inside a massive lime.

Have you tried shooting it?

Do you have power available for one of those plug in things?

Can't you get devices that detect them and spray a small jet of water at them? Designed for the garden to deter, for those that don't want cats there. You'd just need it pointing somewhere away from the car!

I bet it finds the roof comfy. Maybe try throwing a blanket on the roof, with something uncomfy placed on top, bristly door mat?

I'd throw a cover over the car, then it won't matter what the cat does and you can relax.

It's hard to dam a river but easier to alter it's course.
