Looking to buy a gps tracker for my two cats, we have had one go missing and another knocked down in the last couple of months so anytime they don't return for a few hours there is a bit of a panic.

I've done some research online but can anyone who has first hand experience of one of these offer any advice? Thanks

I had one for my dog.

More precisely I had 3 as they kept failing (battery) or had software issues.
Then the mounting broke and I lost one.

In the end I gave up as it was a load of hassle dealing with the supplier.

Not a bad idea just a bit immature

The problem is that for a decent GPS tracker, it's 3g connection, battery, associated hardware etc, you end up with a unit that's just too big for a normal sized cat.

In the end we settled on this. The batteries last for months. It's not GPS, just a simple radio frequency tracker, and with a credit card sized transceiver that you use to 'locate' your cat. We've trained our cat to respond to the beeping from her collar (she gets a treat when she hears it and comes home). If she's in 'hunt mode' and ignoring us then I can use the transceiver to work out where she is and go get her myself.

Not perfect, but for an animal the size of a cat it's most realistic device.
