Our current 2yo lurcher has always eaten Royal Canin with plenty of fish, chicken, veg and bones on top.

She's sometimes quite a fussy eater but is seemingly pretty healthy with a nice glossy coat and slim but with plenty of muscle. Poos are quite soft at times but nothing terrible.

Ran out of dog food on Friday and had to buy Harrington's - she goes crazy for it, poos are smaller and firmer but her energy levels have gone through the roof! Usually really chilled out but she's like a different dog.

Has anyone else noticed such a difference when changing food? She was sprinting rings around us continually on her walk!

Yes,

Over the course of several months I tried the following dry foods with my Staffie cross, all with a spoonful of Chappie mixed in each bowl:-

Each changeover was gradual and I used up a full big sack of each to give it a chance!

James Wellbeloved Turkey & Rice - Poos not good and started developing a rash on belly
Harringtons Lamb & Rice - Poos not good and rash not responding to topical treatment
Harringtons Grain Free Turkey & Potato - Poos bad but rash improving.
James Wellbeloved Lamb & Rice - this is what she had at kennels. Poo's better and rash gone but after a few months worth, not convinced her energy levels good and she sometimes refused breakfast.
Barking Heads "Bad Hair Day" higher fat / protein Lamb & Rice - terrible poos and some throwing up - stopped after a week!
Millies Wolfheart Tracker - Low fat but higher protein Fish Grain Free - poos good, energy good, rash gone, dog loves it!

So, I've settled on Millies Wolfheart Tracker - other dogs may respond differently!
