An utterly appalling news item from Sky News:

Robbers steal eight French Bulldog puppies from family home in Manchester

A 26-year-old pregnant woman was also threatened by thieves after they forced their way in to a family home on Alpha Road in Trafford, Greater Manchester.

The offenders, carrying knives, made demands for cash and mobile phones upon entering the property.

The men then took eight French Bulldog puppies, which were only a day old, before fleeing the scene. Nobody was hurt during the incident.

Detective Sergeant Dave Jones of GMP's Trafford Borough, said: "It's completely shocking that a pregnant woman and her three young children have faced such a terrifying ordeal, and we are determined to find the men responsible."

"As well as finding the offenders, an immediate priority is to find these puppies. They are only a day old, and they won't survive for long without their mum, so they need to be brought home as soon as possible. I need anyone with information about the whereabouts of the puppies, or the men responsible, to please contact police as a matter of urgency."

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 7747 quoting reference number 2218 of 24/10/18 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

The latest news from BBC here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-4...

Good luck to the 2 puppies still alive...

Someone must know who the 3 thieves are - and will hopefully tell the police before they perpetrate the same sickening crime again.

I am haunted by the bewildered look on the face of Reign, the mother dog, after her puppies were stolen - and the words of her owner: "The mother is very depressed. We are taking her to the vet. Her paws are red, we are trying to stop her chewing them.

"She is traumatised. She doesn't understand what has happened. She followed the robbers out of the door with the incubator."

Reign now has 2 of her babies back - let's hope they'll survive.

It's terrible that 6 didn't make it however I'm thankful 2 did. I hope the family are able to keep and cherish the 2 returned puppies.

As for the burglars, please do everyone a favour and just die.

Disgusting it really is.

This is happening far to often nearly every week. Today a dad went out to the shops, left his 2 lads at home and they got threatened with knives and took 2 litters of pups. Pregnant women and today teenagers wrong wrong wrong redface

the problem is that they are an insanely popular breed right now and puppies fetch strong money still.

some of these clowns are too stupid to realise that you cant separate pups at that age and just see the pound signs.

utterly disgusting and they should be sought out and given the maximum sentence possible.

it also highlights the issue with people breeding dogs purely for profit some of the very top French bulldog pups are into 5 figures and these are the kind of headlines that the scrotes see and think easy money., the reality is totally different though dogs are being over bred and a lot of people are really struggling to get pups sold atm. changes in the law are going to see a lot of hobby breeders out of business shortly so I don't know whether we will see a shortage of pups for what is now the uks most popular breed or the general public will hopefully move onto something else as flavour of the month.

The litter was bred for sale with a number of pups reserved already, so I guess probably not. Horrendous case, threatening a pregnant woman with a knife and stealing pups too young to live on their own. Scumbags.
