Having been told my solution (kill and eat) is not the right solution, ideas?

0420 this morning it started.

It is a chicken not a rooster.

Still noisy!

Being as Option 1 is not acceptable you're going to have to put it in a completely dark environment so it thinks it's still night.
Which might be a problem if it's not your chicken.

3 chickens (over 1 year old)

3 chicklets (4 months old)

Kept in different coops for now.

Its the chicklets that are noisy, 1 gives it the big un, now another is trying to!

Just made the chicklet coop alot darker.

Morning will tell.

I dont mind the noise they make as they drop eggs as normally i am at work haha

Chickens like to fully extend their necks when crowing. The answer to stopping them is to raise their perch so that they can't extend their necks due to the height of the coop roof.

Darkness may help but be warned that some chickens will crow through the night. The perch is the answer in that case.
