We've had chickens before and they've been great. We only ever keep three at a time, but in the past, that number has often produced more eggs than we need. This time around though, the current three are useless, and chickens that don't lay eggs are just stting machines!
The feed hasn't changed ( Layers mash), the run gets cleaned weekly, there's always clean water and they get to free range around our veggie patch so never short of space. All in all a very nice existence. The birds are now about to start their 3rd summer and the last year has produced very little. We're lucky to see one egg a day and often they are thin shelled and odd shaped. We find a lot of broken eggs that look to have collapsed under the hen too.
So what do we do?

Our local village egg farm is selling off 2000 69 week old free range chickens at £5 each today as they're restocking with new birds. That's obviously a commercial venture but presumably less than 1.5 years old chickens are good layers.

3 chickens, only 2 lay.

They get layers plus mixed in oyster shell and handful of wild bird seed.

3 used to lay but 1 had a "chat" with a dog and now she just seems to have stopped.

So for my non-layer i reackon stress did it to begin with and now used to not laying.

So for yours, check on the food mix and are they getting stressed during the day with the odd cat/magpie/rat?

Am in same train of thought, hand over eggs or sit with roast spuds and swim with gravy!
