Canine cronic renal failure
Discussion
I didn't realise this was quite so common in older dogs. Look for an increased thirst and peeing, it can come on gradually over yrs so you don't really notice, until more serious symptoms, (in this case intermittent vomiting) occur.
Anyway MIL's 13 y/o Yorkie has suffered this, the little chaps still with us, but went downhill very quickly. He doesn't appear to be in any discomfort but obviously feeling lousy. His CREA and UREA levels are such that the VET feels he's beyond the point of return and thinks he may have days but possibly months, if he stops eating/drinking or starts vomiting again then to act quickly.
MIL is reluctant to say goodbye just yet, she's just feeding him fresh chicken with plenty of water. Seems to have perked up a little, now walking about and showing an interest in stuff although no energy.
Anything else we can do to help the wee fella? Thinking about dietary variations, briefly considered a little natural yogurt (our dog has it) but I think it may be a bit indigestible? We've tried with a little scrambled egg but he's not keen.

These guys may be worth phoning to see if any of their diets would be suitable. High palatibility.

Obviously a px diet will do this for you but I suspect he wouldn't eat it.
Multivitamins can be useful, maybe ask her vet about that.
