Just had 2 guniea pigs brought in suffering from heat stroke, one dead on arrival.

Small furries can't cope with heat, if anyone has any it would be worth just checking that they have access to cool areas (<20 C) and plenty of water.

We occasionally see it with dogs too, I remember one chap who thought it a good idea to take his overweight unfit labrador on a 20 mile hack on the hottest day of the year, sadly euthanased.

Dogs prone are short nosed dogs - Pugs, Bulldogs etc, overweight and unfit animals of any breed. Always take plenty of water on a hot day for a dog walk. Never leave them in a car on a warm day etc.

frown.

Seen G.Pigs succumb before to the heat and rabbits. (as well as dogs of course, cats rarely)

I know g.pigs originate from a hot country but they are not designed to cope with the extreme weather change we have in this country. Leaves them susceptible. Very sad.
