Anyone , been , what to expect ,

we are going , to check out different dog breeds , having been "Setterists" for 30 years,

thinking time for a change , although getting another setter (or 3) does appeal

Looking at Large Munsterlanders and korthalgriffons , also wire haired Vislas,

Might sound sill but you want to make sure you go on the right day for the dogs you are interested in.

Depends , if you want to lots of your prferred breed, than make sure you go on that breeds judging day.
If you just want a doggy day out, and to talk to owners of particular breeds in the Disco dogs bit, then any day is fine.

Best in show day is best avoided if poss due to larger crowds.

If youve not been before, its a huge show with anything you can ever want for a pooch for sale....

take a clothes peg -for your nose! The litter bins lining the footpaths from the car parks to the halls are absolutely stuffed to overflowing with poo-bags and the stench really is utterly appalling! Good show though and although the owners of the actual show dogs are often a bit sniffy about you getting too close to their dogs there's usually a 'meet the breeds' bit where they encourage you to get up close and personal with the pooches and talk to the owners.

I've been and enjoyed it. There were "stalls" with every dog breed you could meet which was interesting as there were some I'd never seen, or heard of.

It is full of weird people though.

Really enjoying the live feed. My wife is working in the main arena for the agility and flyball sessions (one of the pink shirts) so its doubly fun trying to watch her avoid being on the TV.

Whilst I've been before, Crufts is generally too crowded for me to enjoy but I love seeing all the dogs and the TV coverage is good.

Some breeds are fantastic, meanwhile the KC turn a blind eye to the breeds that are being screwed over. I wouldn't visit this event. Money dogs, profit. It needs to clean its act imo.

Lovely whippet, looks so gentle.
Must be so difficult to choose a winner.

My wife now wants an Italian greyhound called Iggy pop lol. Wanted a whippet but she's just seen one on Crufts apparently and fell in love.

They do always seem to puck the same dogs/breeds whenever I watch.

Then again I’m picking my favourites on my preferences I’m assuming hoping the judges are picking on different reasons.

Although my Logan and jeans breeder would have a few things to say in impartiality

The breeder of our dog will probably say exactly the same things.....in fact even I can probably pick the winner of our dog's breed without even seeing the dog or being at the show.... I predicted winner and reserve last year by owner which is a big part of the reason we haven't shown her this year wink

Our puppy St Bernard qualified for this years Crufts (not really sure how lol) but after going to a few shows felt it wasnt for us or more importantly the pup. Normal shows are a long drawn out day so cant imagine what a major event is like. One of the rules for Crufts for entrants was you are not allowed to leave the building until some official says so, so if you failed to progress in the morning for example you couldnt leave until end of the day !

Would like go at least once as a spectator and have enjoyed the highlights online, but i like the naughty ones that get it wrong / run the wrong way etc
