We are currently looking around for insurance for our recently acquired Vizsla pup. I've read a few of the archive threads about pet insurance, but found no mention of 'Bought by Many ' pet insurance.

Their premiums seem very good compared to petplan and appear to offer comparable cover on their top policy. Although they are relatively new to the market, i wondered if anyone here had any experience of dealing with them?

They aren't an insurer, but a broker and quite an interesting one at that.

The underwriter is Great Lakes, a wholly owned subsidiary of Munich Re - so it doesn't get better in terms of financial strength.

I have no experience of their service, but I work in the industry and haven't heard any horror stories and they are a reputable firm most certainly.

after my experience of pet insurance I now put money into a separate bank account on a monthly basis instead.

They'll always find a reason to not pay out if they can. in my case they disallowed a payment for a dog skin condition on the basis he'd had an ear infection when we got him from rescue

they also disallowed any future claims for ears, skin, or allergies for the rest of his life - and yes this was the bought by many people

Thanks for the insight desolate.
I hear what you say keirik, but in fairness to them, they do state upfront that they won't cover anything diagnosed in the two months prior to the start of the policy

What, like not answering the initial questions honestly? Non disclosure of information?

I've decided I'll give it a try. I'm hoping I'll never have to use it, but if I do, I'll let you know how I go on.
