Hi all,
Have any of you good folks got experience of traveling with your cats by car ?
Distance wise the journey would be 2k km each way and the time between each journey would be a month. Obviously there would be overnight stops at cat friendly hotels during each journey but staying at a single location for the 4 weeks in between.
I guess I know the answer but I’m keen to know if anyone has done that or does it on a “regular “ basis
Thanks in advance and happy New Year

Moved from Shropshire to west of Ireland earlier in the year - 11 hour journey

Cat was contained in dog crate with water and tray.

Once he had done number twos I popped him in his basket whilst cleaning the tray, then back in the crate. All this was done inside the car with the doors closed. He slept most of the way after that.

Also had given him some medication from the vet but cannot remember which type.

Good luck

Ours moan constantly in the car but are none the worse when they arrive wherever - they also did Dubai to Heathrow to the Welsh Borders and they were silent once I got them in the car but were fine at the other end.

They're resilient so don't worry too much. Just make sure they have water, food and litter at the other end.
