We've owned 3 EBTs over the years and all of them have totally destroyed their beds within days. That means they've all ended up with scabby elbows from hard cold floors and I kind of feel sorry. The last bed we tried was a metal frame with a kind of canvass hammock in the centre...couple of weeks - destroyed. But the funny part was the dog still slept there, on the floor, in the middle of a metal frame!
Does anyone know of a bed that a Bully can't wreck? I'm thinking it doesn't have to be soft, just supportive. It could be made of chain mail for example if it was hammock-like. I also worry about what is being digested from the destruction.

How dare you mention your dog in a thread without putting a picture up of him/her first!!

Whilst not an EBT, our bulldog (who has similar form) now sleeps in under bed plastic storage boxes, lined with a spare, cheap double duvet & cover and pillow. No demolition as yet, she loves them!

Same here! One of our male bull dogs, “Big Willy” destroyed all beds we gave him, would chew them or suck them to death.

Went to Asda for a an experiment and bought the cheapest single duvet and duvet cover and he now burrows down in it. It’s hard to get him out the crate now.

Just my experience from heavy dogs lying on hard surfaces. Last year out dogue de Bordeaux had a pressure sore on his elbow. Over a period of six months we went back and forth to the vets and this old dick at the local vets insisted they eventually go away.

I asked for him to be referred and his reply was “why? He’s 8 years old”. In the end I told him it was my money I’ll waste it on a pointless referral if I want.

I took him to Fitzpatricks where after trying a few weeks of remedial action, but after no response they decided to remove it. Turns out it was cancer, which potentially developed from the tissue being inflamed for so long.

Needless to say I spent an absolute fortune trying to save him using Fitzpatricks and a veterinary cancer centre in the states, but in the end we lost him last October.

Here he is!

Any materials soft or not will be eaten and shagged to death. He will then be chased around the garden by his own arse because there's something poking out of it that shouldn't be and he's trying to escape it. My other Bullies did that too. One of them, Madge, had a string poking out one day and I had to gently pull it. On it went like a length of bunting! I thought next I'd pull out a bunch of flowers, then a rabbit...

Thanks for that. The chew proof one looks good, but he's a digger too so it would be an expensive gamble. A gamble I might have to take!

My two used to dig at the bed as well, quite heavily. The nice fluffy cover lost its fluff but remained intact and the main part of the bed was untouched .

We have an EBT bh, Dolly, a rescue dog with bundles of issues and
next to no history. Not even sure about her age.
She's been with us 4 years now, and up to last January destroyed every
bed and bedding we provided her with.
Until we went into a certain well known pet store, Pets at Home, and bought a 3 peaks bed base and cushion.
Sucess at last. Can't reccomend it enough, not cheap initially but has saved us a fortune
in the long run and more importantly has solved one of her issues at least, bless her.

we've used these with our dobbie. She can normally total any bedding within a few weeks, but the Tuffie lasted for a couple of years. She has, of course, recently been declared victorious in her ongoing war with bedding, so another Tuffie is likely to be ordered soon.hehe

Our two Frechies destroyed all of their beds, we bought them a large travel crate (metallic) and it has a couple of double bed quilts in there with bedding, it’s fantastic, the cage keeps all the bedding in, they don’t pull it out and it’s a really good layer of padding.

It doesn’t look very nice so stays in their room, downstairs they nap on the sofa ...

our German Pointer wrecked every bed we gave him and the so called anti-chew sprays were utterly useless. We did finally find a solution: a liberal slosh of hot Tabasco sauce around the edges/corners of the bed and he doesn't touch it. Just make sure its dried properly before you let them loose on it and remember to re-apply about once a fortnight (or after you've washed the bed )

Lou spent the first 2 years of her life eating every bed, toy, carpet, lino etc. Then I got one of those cheap plastic bed shells from PAH and put 2 of the cheapest duvets from Argos in there making sure that the plastic edges are covered.
When they get a bit smelly - chuck them away and replace with equally cheap ones.

£16 every 6-8 weeks and she’s like a pig in st. She loves them.

Another option for you may be Nikki’s Nesties, they’re all the rage on the Bulldog forums as has been proven with our Mabel, they like destroying beds and the Nesties don’t get demolished apparently. We’ve not tried one ourselves, but they’re an option at that price point.
I don’t know the website, but I’m sure a search engine would find it for you.

This is the entrance to 'Wilson's quarters'.... the bed has no chance.

Jesus Christ.

We have wooden baby gates to divide the house up. Lou routinely chews her way out of her bedroom and then into Duncan’s bedroom. We’re on a 6 month changeover of gates - we did try metal ones but she just bent the bars and nibbled all the paint off.

Needs to try harder, thats not even bull shape.

Not only destroy dog beds but on 3rd double bed now.

The Bullie has stopped chewing most things now its the RSD doing it.
