Well, that was the suggestion to put me yesterday evening by the other half.

Lexi, 2.5 year old DSH tabby thing. She was bought with the idea that she would be my wife's cat, as the other two we had at the time (now down to one) were very much 'mine', on the basis they followed me around like my shadow. Fast forward a couple of years, and Lexi has been playing up of late by scratching curtains when she wants feeding (my wife's fault for actually feeding her when Lexi does it!), jumping on the older cat when he wants to be left alone, doing Spider-Pig impressions under the sofa etc. It's not all the time, we play with her a lot as clearly it's her way of showing she wants attention, she's just a bit of a mischievous character. smile Wouldn't change her at all. However, when she's naughty then I'm the one to tell her off, and she knows if she's done wrong as she'll do that sad-cat face they all do when they've been rumbled hehe

However, I went away for the weekend just gone and apparently Lexi was quiet as anything. Laying downstairs on the sofa when my wifey was watching telly, gently mooching around and leaving the other cat alone, and zero scratching of the curtains in the bedroom. Literally as soon as I came home last night about 1900, she went mental again and Spider-Pig/Cat came out to play instantly, and curtain scratching recommenced in earnest at 0200 last night (which thankfully I slept through).

So does my cat actually fancy me? It's like she only really wants me to pay any attention to her, which is making wifey feel a bit hard done by as Lexi was supposed to be hers! She was the one that spent all the time with her as a kitten, she's the one that feeds her every morning etc. It's utterly bizarre. There must be some kind of psychological thing going on here that neither of us can figure out!

This isn't a really serious post, it's not like I do actually hate the fact our cat prefers mebiggrin

I doubt she fancies you but it's quite possible you're THE one who owns her. My mum had a few cats through the years, there was one who would go and sit in the corner facing the wall if any other cat should dare to sit on her lap.

They are more complex animals than people give them credit for.
