Garage Slug Trails...No Slugs

Every morning when open up the garage pretty much any surface is covered in a shiny, clear slug trail like substance weaving and winding its way around the garage. Work bench, floor, carpet, and this morning even the nylon pouch covering my cycle light battery had a trail over it - its never on vertical surfaces.

The problem is I have searched high and low and NEVER found any evidence of slugs ...not so much as a dead one. I've even crawled under the bench on my hands and knees to try and find any evidence of them or any other creatures/bugs and apart from an odd spider here and there that was it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Beer trap. I found the cheap stuff works the best.
