Back from two weeks holiday, live in a rural area, the house has been quiet the whole time. Found this waiting for me on the front doorstep. The 30cm ruler is there for scale. No other indications of any other animal activity, I'm thinking a badger. Perhaps on more than one occasion. Because there's been no activity in or around the house I'm guessing it was marking territory?

Any thoughts folks?

Deffo not sheep. Each 'clump' is between golf and tennis ball size. All sheep st I've seen is small almost like rabbit droppings but bigger.

Seemed to be grass/hay content though.

I don't know why you think it's 'deffo' not sheep, they can produce varying sizes of waste depending on their bowel movements.

That is almost certainly sheep. I was born and bred on a sheep farm and have seen plenty of the stuff!

An unfortunate accident, but you've been given a good opportunity to draw a line under it and move on.

I'll bow to the greater collective knowledge and say sheep then.

Quite surprised there's no obvious evidence of any other sheep st in my front garden though.

I was hoping that by asking the 'what animal..?' question I might have got away with it.

looks like sheep but if not maybe deer? if so it would probably be one of the bigger species ( Roe/Fallow/Red etc depending on where you live)

If it tastes of honey it is definitely sheep.

It is adult deer poop.

Possibly fallow or roe deer.

About 1-2m of them (all types) roaming the countryside. Loads around.

The answer is a lazy one. I hate this sort of thing.

Last week during our BBQ, a bird shat on the decking right next to the ale keg.

That's the last time she gets an invite.

PS: it's a sheep.
