Dog Friendly Hotels
Discussion
Is there actually a proper, up to date resource for finding dog friendly hotels ? The smaller "amateur" websites only have a few hotels in each area and aren't always up to date and the larger sites (Trivago etc) are either out of date (previous owner was dog friendly, new one not) or have different information on their website to that on the Trivago / Hotels.com page. Those that do actually allow dogs into the rooms, then don't allow them into the bar / restaurant areas, so you can't eat on site. Best Western actually seem quite good, but ideally I would like the choice of a smaller independent hotel too if possible.
We have just ordered a book off Amazon that claims to be a directory of such places. No idea how up to date it'll be though.
We've been to a few dog friendly hotels, I usually just use trip Adviser to find places and it seems fairly accurate to me, but usually go for cottages for any decent length break.
Stayed with the hound at the Three Swans in Market Harbrough last weekend. Dogs allowed in room and bar, very nice place, would recommend it.

Normally we don't have a problem as we are going to touristy places for a week or so, but this is for 1 night in the West Midlands / Staffordshire area and near to the M6. I have found information on Hotels.com and Trivago to be out of date and misleading. Many hotels are listed as dog friendly, but aren't or are very restricted (just had one that said dogs in the room and outside patio area only, another that said guide dogs only).
Not looked lately but sticky a few threads above may help ^^^^^^^^
