Got a problem with a magpie in the back garden, appears unable to fly due to one of its wings being dodgy, apart from the mess it's leaving behind we can't let the dog out

Every time we go to the door it runs under the shed ! We can't catch it, it seems healthy enough apart from the dodgy wing

I don't want to hurt it so what do I do ?

Tried organisations on previous similar situation but no joy

have you a bird rescue organisation anywhere nearby? Unfortunately magpies aren't very popular these days. It may recover in a few days. Can it flap it's wings?

Doesn't seem able to, seems to be just the one wing that's a problem

I'll have a see if I can find someone who can deal with it, if i can't find anyone I'll wait to see if it gets a bit better,
It does seem strong enough, so another day or so won't matter

Kindest and best thing for the environment is to dispatch injured vermin.

Seems to have gone this morning so all's well, dog doesn't seem bothered so it's not hanging about under the shed.

Shame its gone, we had one for 21 years, was a funny old thing but enjoyable to have around (made its own fly factory in a potted plant).
That was rescued as a fledgling due to it having fallen out of its nest and damaging its wing, dropped off at vets and a couple of days layer vet called saying if you want the Magpie come and get it.
She could never fly but did flap a lot and stole anything you had lol, didnt like outdoors and only got on with the dog after a few years (Lucky chased her out of the door the day she, the dog, was dropped off).
