Had a cat for a couple of years, adopted as an adult from a shelter, we are his 4th owners, he is 7. He has been a stray as a kitten but not since then.

Its took us 1 year to get his vomiting down to minimal amounts, when we first got him we fed him a lot, lots of treats and what not and he was constantly indulging.

We have got a toy for his dry biscuits which are left out all day, if you put biscuits in a bowl he would woof every single one and barf it up, he gets half a sachet twice a day at set times.

Every time you go to put the sachet down he will sprint/yowl/push you out of the way, he acts like its his last meal, he then starts eating but at a ridiculous rate, absolutely scoffing it and you cant distract him at all, it honestly looks like he has never been fed, he has been the same when we fed him more before aswell.

How can we stop this behaviour as every time he eats his sachet quick he throws it up and it wont be doing any good for him long term. With his dry aswell he just out of nowhere seems to be ravenous and you can always tell, he will then go and scoff lots of biscuits and throw up.

Maybe try a bowl designed to limit speed eating?

Something like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pet-Dog-Cat-Interactive-...

A fairly simple way to help speed eating slow down is to use a plate not a bowl. They have to chase it round the plate more. However I would put a wipe clean mat underneath! hehe

Ive tried the slow feed bowls, its not necessarily the speed of eating its more how much he will eat before stopping, if i put 2 sachets worth in the bowl he would eat it all, go and eat biscuits aswell then throw up.

Mix with some large biscuit 'oral health'. My cat Ryu will munch any wet food out. He doesn't really like biscuits though and he actually has to chew and crunch then biscuits then.
