Giving A Foster Dog Back
Discussion
Isnt as easy as I thought.
Had a dog here all week, fostering, who is a Romanian mutt (don't know if they have a pure breed) and has come along in leaps and bounds (she can really jump now) but her week is up and it's time to give her back.
Gutted. Really attached to her now. Gets along with my EBT (also a rescue) and the Idiot (yet another rescue)
Might not do another foster.

I must admit I'm not sure that I could do it, but I think you should pat yourself on the back for being a really important stepping stone towards a permanent home. Passing her on also frees up a space for another needy dog (assuming you can bring yourself to do it again).
Of course if she still needs a home and you think it's the right thing to do, adopt her A good home is a good home!

Well done OP.
We've thought about it before, just to help out arundawn or absolute bull terriers but we'd end up more like crazy dog people than useful fosterers. I could never let a dog I'd been looking after have the possibility of going somewhere that didn't deserve them - the reality is that they would of course end up in a loving home but my brain won't have it.
As an aside, have you seen the EBT thread? Don't remember seeing your username in there.

We foster Romanian dogs, weve had seven so far and have adopted two failures giving us three permanent dogs, 1 Staffie, 1 Dacshund Cross and 1 unknown Crossbreed. Another two coming this week but just short term fosters.
It is difficult handing them over but its rewarding to know youve got them out off that hell hole that is Romania and shown them the world isnt the threatening place they thought it was.
