We've got a 15 year old terrier who recently suffered from a stroke - luckily, she's recovered well considering.

However, when she walks, she "shuffles" her right legs, which in turn has worn her nails down to the kwik/quick.

We just wondered if there are any boots out there that are hard wearing (made of leather, say), to help protect her paw? I fear the general dog boots would soon get worn out.

Anyone got any experience with such boots?

Cheers!

Might be worth looking here:

We had these boots for Joe who had muscle wastage in his back legs:

but didn't end up using them much because we were able to avoid walking him on hard surfaces.

How long ago was the stroke? My dogs has had two. He made a complete recovery from both but it took a month or so to recover from the first one. Hopefully your dog will make good progress.
