Tomorrow will be a horrible day as we have booked the vet to come to the house and put Caspar to sleep which is heartbreaking.
He has cancer of the lower jaw and has got through the last two months very well but now is not eating a lot and is loosing weight so although he is doing ok as the cancer will not spread the fact that he does not eat has made us come to the decision that we have to do the right thing by him.
My wife is in pieces and I will be the same tomorrow as he is the first cat that we have had who loves us both equally.
We have two others who will be a comfort to us but it is still hard to take in that Caspar will not be with us after tomorrow.

The hardest choice to make, but the right one. You're doing it for exactly the right reasons, and no pet could wish for a better owner than one that makes the kindest decision at the hardest time.

Lovely looking fellow, I'm sorry for your loss. frown

Horrible and hard decision to make, but the best decision for Caster.

Pepper made it to 21 but dementia and arthritis got to her, so I know exactly how you feel.

he is a lucky fella to have such caring and loving owners many do not. Although heart breaking you know you have done the very best for him and you can say goodbye on your own terms.

Sorry to see this frown.

There is one thing that binds us to these animals and them to us, it is love. It might be hard to find this love with your other cats, but I wish you luck all the same!

Thank you to everyone, all lovely comments on a horrendous day for us.
I am glad we had him pts at home as we were both in tears and the other two cats knew what was going on.
We took him down to a pet crematorium this afternoon who were brilliant and have come back with his ashes in a wooden cat casket, my wife is still in bits as he was our child to us as we do not have kids
RIP Caspar
