My indoor cat is soon to be joined by a dog, and I'm a bit confused by the options to vaccinate her. The cat has not been outside nor had contact with other cats since I've had her, so I've deliberately held off from updating her vaccinations for the sake of it.
The dog is up-to-date with his jabs, and with him going outside and being around the cat (potentially sharing food/water etc.), it would seem prudent to protect the cat against possible illness. However, all of the advice I can find on the internet relates to feline viruses, which I feel would be less of a risk to a dog/cat cohabiting animal.

Does anyone have any experiences or recommendations to share?

Basically as far as I can recall, the things dogs are vaccinated against, cats cannot get anyway and same vice versa.

Your one risk will be from the dog carrying in some cat related virus from the outside and passing it onto your cat but that is such a low (and tbh unlikely scenario) risk that it probably isn't worth worrying about (afterall that would mean you could do the same!)

My two dogs are vaccinated but my cat isn't (and she goes outside sometimes!)
