Not the world's best snap - but it wasn't exactly sitting still for long!

Spotted this furry fella running alongside the Holy Brook outside the Oracle shopping centre in Reading last night. I'm guessing it's a mink but am no ferret-wrangling expert!

There were tales a while ago that mink(s) were killing cats in that area. They definitely live there.

Minks are feisty littly buggers!

Could make a nice scarf if you see a few more!

Mink are capable of killing a lot of things including cats! Very accomplished predators and afraid of little.A real scourge when in large numbers as no native wildlife is safe from them and they will kill anything they can.

PETA have a lot to answer for releasing these little terrors. Only animal I would not be bothered running over.

You are right, it is one. Lots of mink along the Thames as they have settled in since escaping (or more popularly, freed by eco-nutters from fur farms) , are a bit of a menace as many of the natural inhabitants are falling prey, in the most literal sense, to them.
