Hi

I recently bought a civic tourer, my plan was to split the boot 50/50 Cargo/Dog with one of these dog guard dividers, however it seems Honda do not make one for the Civic Tourer, any ideas what else could be done?

Dog cage that's about half the size of the boot? Useful in other situations too that way, and if used in other situations, will be a comforting and familiar place if they're not too happy in the car.

I had thought about a cage, but he's a lab, not too fond of the getting in and out the car and has never been in a cage i think he may freak out.

I dont even need a full barrier like you can get for some cars, just something to stop the cargo tipping over,

Flat board on boot, upright at 90 degrees, triangulated at front, probably just another board at the back. Like a box with 3 sides, and a bar. Put cargo in the base board, and it's own weight should keep it stable.

I was thinking something similar like a book stand that you put at the end of a shelf but on a bigger scale, so like an L shape, as you said the weight of cargo on the base will stop it tipping.

Where on earth would I get such a thing though, plastic would be good say approx 90cm in length and 70cm wide, height doesn't have to be to roof of car even just to parcel shelf height

Personally, I'd just make one. If you're happy with "a bit scruffy" then plywood does the job.

If you want it nicer, then out plywood inside fabric, with a bit of foam on the outside of the ply, inside the fabric - like a travel cot matress. 2 straps could make that a woke le bookend solution.

Have a look at Travall. Both of our dog guards are travall units and they are well made and fit well.

The dividers are quite expensive compared to the guards. They are usually £200 plus.

If they don't make one for your car, then just make something out of 15mm box section timber and chicken mesh. I'm doing that for my Discovery 3 smile
