My fish has no nose...

Not a joke, we have two flame tetras, one swordtail and two black widow tetra. All been in the tank for quite a while.
Just spotted a couple of days ago, one of the black widows has lost the top half of the mouth, almost back to the eyes. Seems to have just happened suddenly. It's now sheltering behind the pump. I fear it's probably terminal but it looks otherwise healthy.
Could it be disease or been attacked. The other fish don't seem vicious although there has always been a strange, loving relationship between one of the black widows and the swordtail.
