My Mil's cat has been missing for approximately a week. Unfortunately she was found over the weekend having fallen into a neighbors water butt and was unable to get out.
We are unsure if she had leaned in to try and get a drink or if she jumped up on top of it on her way to another point and the lid moved/she lost her footings.

upon hearing the news Mrs Buzz went out and checked ours:

This has now been firmly put back in place as we have 4 cats of our own and couple that visit from neighbors.

So please have a quick check around and make sure those lids are on your butts properly.

RIP Pepper

Thanks guys and gals, just trying to raise a little awareness with this post really. The Facebook post has since been shared by Cats Protection, and from the comments it sounds like it has happened to other people too frown

Good information to know really, will check ours at home. We have no cats but 2 dogs, with plenty cats in the areas though.

Not good news. Thankfully newer ones come with a lid that's a bugger to remove once in place. Our latest one even has a lock.

I'll also add indoor pets and toilets. We have a very inquisitive rabbit who loves to explore and get into mischief. I went on holiday and my parents looked after our 2. Dad left the downstairs toilet door open and mum heard a splash and a rabbit running out soaked. He must have panicked like hell as toilet water was all up the walls. Thankfully he managed to turn before his head went down the loo as his arse was soaked. I dread to think what would have happened had he not turned and slipped down head first.

I think my dad had a bit of a bking over his they will be fine attitude that blokes get as they get older.
