Poor little sod....sparrow content

I have a busy bird feeder in the garden that attracts most common or garden birds. However, for one reason or another, I rarely see Sparrows on the feeder.

Apart from the other day. I was watching the feeder and noticed a Sparrow on it.

Beeing curious, I observed the little chap for a while. Whilst doing this, I noticed he appeared to have a stick in his beak that he was very reluctant to put down to eat....

It was only when I uploaded to my PC that I realised, the poor little sod had some sort Biro type spring actually stuck on/in his beak....

Not the best shots, but I hope the little guy gets by ok.

Poor little thing! Hopefully he/she can get it off by itself. They must be starving!

Funny how I feel more sorry for animals than I do people!

If it's got trouble feeding it's likely to be back, can't you rig up a trap and help the guy out?

Not seen him since....

Was trying to work out if it was affecting him. Looking at some of the other pics, I think he is getting food down.
