Urgent request - Kennels/boarding in the Kent/Bromley area
Discussion
A request on behalf of my OH, who has booked a few days away this coming weekend, and had planned (months in advance) to leave her dog with a family member who often looks after him.
The family member has come down with an illness (nothing too serious), resulting in the likely cancellation of the weekend unless we can find somewhere for the dog to spend a few days.
The OH is particularly fussy about where her dog goes (and rightly so), and would prefer to cancel the weekend than dump him at any old kennels. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations of places where the dog could go for a few days? (we've discounted friends/family, as it's an imposition at such short notice)
Thanks in advance!
ETA - As if to complicate matters, we've just realised that the dog isn't vaccinated against Kennel Cough. I presume this scuppers our chances?

I do know someone who does this, not too far from you, have just tx them to ask about availability and will PM you if there's good news. They only take small dogs but I think yours would qualify! They are a proper business but do board at home. MrsC works for them part time, but we can't help you ourselves as we are also away.

You say it's an imposition on friends/family... But (assuming you have it) why not put an FB post up asking the same, for suggestions on kennels & why? You may be surprised
Thank you.We have tried, but the OH doesn't know a lot of people locally - being mostly Londoners (living in flats, busy lives, seldom at home), our friends aren't well geared-up for dog-sitting (or indeed dog-ownership) at short notice.

No by a house sitter I mean someone who will live in your house with the dog for the weekend. There is also a website/group (not sure if it is facebook or somewhere else) called something like Borrow my Dog which is a place for people who can't have dogs for whatever reason but would love one for a bit of time to borrow one.............

We'll bear in mind. However, the OH is currently refurbing her flat, meaning that it's not an ideal place for anyone to be staying (let alone her and the dog!).Gassing Station | All Creatures Great & Small | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
