pet insurance covering whelping bitches

Any recommendations on pet insurance companies that cover bhes about to have a litter ?
discovered a lot of companies don't cover breeding bhes

Would this also cover CS

Most won't because the owner has chosen to breed their dog (ie elective not accident, illness or medical complaint ) and no they won't cover CS either even an emergency cs

You may find one that will but I have never seen one (maybe try The Kennel Club)

Afterall it would be taking the mick somewhat to have the insurance pay out for a situation the owner chose to put their bh into and then potentially sell the puppies for several hundred quid apiece!! Bit of a cheek to say the least.

I have just found this, so it may be worth some more investigating.
I don't think I have ever known a claim be put through though,maybe they are too expensive?

It is difficult to quote but be expected to pay upto or near 1k, maybe more. Will depend on time of day, how urgent it is, how long it takes, any complications and speed of recovery.
