Last Friday my wife and I came home from the vets without Archie for the last time.

It's been an honour and a pleasure to have had him in our lives for so long.

A huge part of our lives for almost 16 years.

Run free Archie - July 12 2000 - May 06 2016.

I don't have any more words. frown

Sad sad day, but almost 16 years is a great age for a dog.

Dogs are just as big a part of the family, and you mourn their loss as much as any other family member.

RIP to Archie, and condolences to you and your family.

I have a yellow lab that is 8 now, and am already dreading the day he goes frown

Sorry for your loss frown its hard to do and will hurt for ages, think I lasted 9 days before I went to see a successor as the house was just too empty without the patter of paws and god did I feel guilty frown

I hope you can look back on those memories and hopefully you will have new memories if you get another 4 legged fiend, sorry I meant friend wink

There are some excellent words of comfort on this sad subject in Cesar Milan's The Dog Whisperer. He talks about how dogs live life to the full every day; I can't quote anything because unfortunately my dog has eaten the book. All the Best.
