We love our bro n sister Russian blues so much we want another cat well we were asked to advise on more Russian blues and the breeder said she had 3 coming through, our friends want 2 leaving one alone and crucially it's the same mum as ours but not the same dad.
Cici and nona are under a year old and we got them in October, they are so friendly Cici the boy is virtually like a dog he comes when called.
They are both house cats.
question is would this happy house be ruined with a third cat / kitten, in people's experience is this a good or bad idea - we will ask the vet as well.
Cheers

Back in October I found some kittens dumped in the forest. We kept one and had to integrate her with 2 existing cats, who certainly didn't love her at first sight, possibly because they are 8 and 13 and found a playful kitten a bit much. Now the kitten is friends with one of the existing cats and has learnt to keep her distance from the other.

It certainly can work, but you need to make sure they have enough space to get away from each other and it takes time, in our case around 4 months before the hissing stopped. It may also be that they end up tolerating each other rather than liking each other.

Good luck!

Thanks - they have lots of room but we may need separate litter etc as they are house cats.

Not only litter trays, but also food bowls, feed them apart and not in a communal area.
